Ipoh Timur Celebratory and Thanksgiving Dinner

The Ipoh Timur Celebratory and Thanksgiving dinner was held at Restaurant Kok Thai yesterday night (30.03.2008). The event was a successful one thanks to Howard Lee, my Election Campaign Manager, who was organizing and monitoring the whole event.

Not to forget also my Campaigning team, who were also helped during yesterday dinner, Jacky Ngo & Wife, Eric & Wife, Edmong & Wife, Chun, Nick & Wife etc.

As i always said, apart from the logistic team, the Campaign Team members comprise of a group of very very young members, with Jacky Ngo being the eldest at the age of 29! I hope that all of them can stay along, can stay together and continue to form a forminable force not only in DAP Canning, but also DAP Perak.

Canning Service Centre

My apology to the people of Canning as i am still looking for a full time assistant to be fully in charge of the Service Centre which is situated at No. 417, Jalan Pasar, Kg. Simee, 31400 Ipoh.

During the past 4 years, myself, Sdr. Ong BP (the SA for Tebing Tinggi) and Sdr. Teh HK (DAP Perak Public Compalint Bureau Chief) were taking care of the Ipoh Timur-Canning Service Centre. I intend to have the Centre opened during office hours to serve the people better. Hopefully everything could be finalised by end of the Month.

Party or non-Party volunteers are most welcomed to assist. Suggestions, ideas and inputs on how to make the Centre a community centre for all are also welcomed.

Now the election is over and i would like to thank the people of Canning for giving me a strong mandate.

I have just visited Kg. Simee Market together with kit siang this morning, thanking the people for their support. We are now arranging the visit to other areas such as Canning market, Cempaka market, Ipoh Garden East and Ipoh Garden South etc.

i would also like to thank all the members of the Canning Campaigning team, those in organizing, publicity, polling and counting etc.

As what we have been doing before election, the Ipoh Timur-Canning DAP Team will be visiting the key areas on a weekly basis, after the State Government is formed and everything settled down.

Again, thanks for your support, the People of Canning.

拒绝本身的命运被外来的邮寄选票操控!

在不透明的选举制度下，怡保东区国会选区和属下桂和州选区的邮寄选票已经从上一届的1300张暴增至4300张，人民应该发挥强大的力量、拒绝本身的命运被外来的邮寄选票操控，全力支持行动党的候选人。

选举委员会在没有知会行动党议员的情况下单方面不透明、不公正地将原本属于国阵强区打扪国会选区内的至少4个兵营纳入怡保东区和桂和选区，已经大大影响了选区内人民投选本身属意议员的权力。

选区的代议士原本就应该由当地的选民作决定，而不是由外来邮寄选票所操控。

行动党的律师团在法律局主任倪福齐、倪可汉及倪可敏的领导下，将英达丽水案件带上法庭，并获得怡保高庭法官拿督VT星甘判决英达丽水没有服务、不可收费。虽然英达丽水在上诉庭获胜，但是这个大原则并没有改变，而且现在尚等待联邦法院作出最后判决。

但是，遗憾的是由民政党主席林敬益领导的能源及水务部却违背民意，通过水供工业法令，将排污费纳入水费单，没有缴还排污费将面对水源被切断的后果，全体民政党国州议员欠缺了人民一个交代。

当天晚上发表演说的行动党领袖包括国会反对党领袖林吉祥、怡保西区国会议员古拉、行动党公共投诉局主任郑福基，并由政治教育局主任黄文标主持。当晚出席聆听的市民踊跃，中英两种语文超过150份的火箭报更售卖一空，反应令人鼓舞。
